Rehearsals starting again

We are starting back next Monday, 10th January at 7.30pm in Marldon Village hall.

We will be staying safe and asking that masks be worn when walking around but they can be removed when seated, so please make sure you bring one with you, (we will have some available if you forget), and we will be continuing to maintain social distancing between chairs.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and to be singing again!

UPDATE

Regretfully the Choir will not be singing at Occombe Farm on Thursday 16th December as planned due to the rapid rise of COVID and the need to protect our choir members. We are all really sorry not to be joining in the Christmas festivities at Occombe and wish everyone a very Happy and Safe Christmas

Men we need you!

Calling all men!

Do you enjoy singing? Don’t sing alone, come and join our friendly and active choir.

You dont have to read music, and you dont have to live in Marldon. Come and join us at Occombe Farm tomorrow (Thursday 16th) where we will be singing Christmas songs and carols outside the Farm shop and find out more!

Dates for the Diary

As promised, here are the details for our singing events:

Monday 13th December: Lantern procession from Marldon school to The Church House Inn where we will be leading carol singing for the lighting-up of the Christmas tree.

Thursday 16th December: We will be singing outside Occombe Farm Shop from 6-8pm during their late night Christmas shopping event. Further details of Occombe Farm Christmas activities can be seen on http://www.occombe.co.uk

Upright piano needed!

We are now well into rehearsing our Christmas Music and will be giving news soon about 2 events where we have been invited to sing.

In the meantime, does anyone have or know anyone who has an upright piano in good condition that they are willing to donate or sell to us? Please contact us via this website contact page if you can help

Many thanks!

Back singing again!

We are all delighted to be back singing again whilst of course paying heed to all the Covid guidelines for singing as a choir. We were pleased to welcome several new people on our first rehearsal and it’s not too late to join us if you’d like to have a taster session. We start each rehearsal with a warm-up session, getting our voices used to singing again, and remembering how to breathe and then have gone on to rehearse some of our Christmas favourites, ready for whatever gigs might come our way. Please contact us via the website or Facebook if you feel like giving it a go.

Strawberries and Singing!

What a fabulous day we had at Marldon’ s Apple Pie Fair! It was so well organised and very well attended, congratulations to all involved. It was a real pleasure for the Choir to be able to sing together for the first time in nearly 18 months. We just about managed not to eat all the strawberries on our Strawberry Stall and made a small profit, but more importantly we were able to spend time together manning the stall and telling people about the Choir.Rehearsals start again tomorrow, Monday 6th September at 7.30pm and will be in Marldon Parish Church tomorrow and the first Monday of each month, and in the Village Hall for the other Mondays. We are looking forward to welcoming members back again and for anyone new who might be interested in coming along for a taster session.

Recruiting now

Please come and join us if you would like to try out our friendly and welcoming choir. After a long gap we are finally getting together to sing again in September. You don’t have to live in Marldon, there are no auditions and there are vacancies for all vocal parts at present.

Please contact us via this website if you are interested.
